A/N: So, we're finally on the last chapter of the last part of this series. Enjoy and as always thanks for reading and <333 for the comments. You guys are great =) Enjoy.
“YOU’RE DATING KIM HEECHUL!?”
“Ow.” Hankyung said rubbing the side of his head. “That is what I said Eunhyuk.”
“You two can’t be serious.” Donghae said shaking his head at Heechul and Hankyung.
“We are serious.” Heechul said leaning into Hankyung for effect or so he told himself.
“Whatever he’s paying you,” Eunhyuk said despite the protests from Heechul. “I’ll give you double to tell me what’s really going on. What did you two do? What bet did you lose hyung?”
“Wait a second you…you,” Heechul glared at Eunhyuk. “Why would he have to lose a bet to date me? I’m good looking enough to be paid. You, on the other hand, I still can’t figure out what happened to Donghae.”
“Heechul.” Hankyung scolded softly. “That’s Eunhyuk. Don’t start with him.”
They were all sitting together in Donghae’s room. Hankyung and Heechul had decided that it would be better to break the news to the other two away from Ryeowook and Yesung. They had also decided that no one would know about the deal they made. As far as everyone was concerned, they were an actual couple. Of, course the rest of the school wouldn’t know about them.
“Okay, so you want me to believe that you suddenly started loving Heechul and that now you two are dating?” Eunhyuk asked.
“I don’t love him.” Hankyung said immediately and Heechul felt a stab of disappointment. “Well, I mean…I…”
“He means leave him alone.” Heechul defended. “He doesn’t have to explain anything to you.”
Hankyung gave him a grateful look and Heechul smiled. They had to help each other. If this was going to work then they had to be there for
each other. And who knew maybe…maybe if Heechul tried hard enough he could convince Hankyung that they could try something.
It wasn’t that he was in love because he wasn’t. He just happened to like the way Hankyung smiled and the way Hankyung defended everyone and the way Hankyung danced and the looks on Hankyung’s face whenever he was the center of attention.
And so what if he was a little curious to know what it would be like to be Hanchul? So what if he wanted to know have a go at a Golden Boy too? So what if he got what he wanted?
“So this is it then?” Eunhyuk asked. “You just expect us to accept this without question?”
“Yes.” Hankyung said getting up and helping Heechul stand.
“I don’t buy it for a second.” Eunhyuk said as they walked away. “I better see some Hanchul action or I’m going to think this is all a huge joke you two are playing on us.”
Heechul almost laughed out loud. This was some big joke they were both playing or more precisely this was some joke on him. Because here he was ridiculously glad that Hankyung hadn’t let go of his hand and Hankyung was only doing this for Yesung.
Yesung. Only for Yesung.
Heechul had to get that through his head. None of this was for him. This was for the sake of Hankyung’s favorite Golden Boy, for Hankyung’s ex, for Hankyung’s Yesung.
And still he leaned his head on Hankyung’s shoulder and was glad that Hankyung didn’t move away. He tried again and placed a kiss on Hankyung’s cheek and even though Hankyung looked surprised, he didn’t say anything.
And for once, Kim Heechul allowed himself to open up to someone. He found himself talking a lot with Hankyung. They had time since they often stole away to do “couple things” at least that’s what the others thought they were doing. All they ever did was sit down and talk.
And talk.
And then talk some more.
And Heechul liked it. He liked telling Hankyung things. He liked the way Hankyung would laugh at him when it was uncalled for. He liked how Hankyung wasn’t afraid to talk back to him. He liked how Hankyung didn’t just accept what he said.
In fact, it took Heechul very little time to realize that maybe he really did like Hankyung. A lot.
And he was okay with that.
***
Hankyung was confused. He read the letter he'd gotten that morning again
Come to the recording studio.
HEECHUL.
Hankyung folded the letter and looked at the board. Heechul was confusing him. Ever since they'd agreed to tell everyone that they were dating, things had changed. The first morning after their friends knew, Hankyung had gotten his first love letter. The day after he'd gotten chocolate. Then a song. And every day since then, he'd gotten something.
At first, Hankyung had thought it was part of the show, but after the first ten love letters, Hankyung had begun to doubt. It only took a while before everyone started telling him that Heechul was crazy about him. If everyone could be quiet then he wouldn't be so confused.
But, he was confused.
And if he was truthful to himself, he liked the attention. He liked the feel of Heechul's hand in his. He liked the rapt expression on Heechul's face whenever he, Hankyung, said anything. He loved Heechul's laugh. He loved when Heechul put his head on his shoulder. He loved how Heechul would kiss him at random moments. He loved how Heechul would get very quiet and just look at him.
Hankyung stopped.
When had like turned to love?
Was he in love with Heechul?
No, he couldn’t be. He wasn’t. This was all an act. They were only doing this for their friends.
"What's wrong?"
Hankyung looked up. He felt his smile come of its own accord.
"Hello Heechul."
"Hello." Heechul said sitting down next to him. "Why are you in an empty classroom and not at the recording studio?"
"I was thinking." Hankyung said.
"Well stop that. Wook wants you to help him with his dancing."
"I'll go tomorrow." Hankyung said distracted by Heechul's hand in his.
"I'm glad you two are getting along."
"I am too. Heechul?" Hankyung asked. "Can we be friends? Real friends? I don't want to pretend anymore."
Hankyung looked at Heechul. It was true. He was so tired of having Heechul around just because they had to be together. He was so tired of having Heechul around him when it was all a lie. He was tired of pretending. He really liked Heechul.
He enjoyed their talks more that he had thought. And Heechul wasn’t what Hankyung had expected. Underneath all that haughtiness was someone who really cared about his friends. Heechul wasn’t what Hankyung was expecting and he liked the Heechul he had gotten to know.
"Hankyung." Heechul said taking his face in his hands. "We can't be friends. I don't want to be friends. You're my boyfriend."
Hankyung's mouth fell open. He couldn't believe what he was hearing. Sure, he’d heard it before, but never when they were alone and never like this. He hadn’t heard that sincerity in Heechul’s voice ever.
Heechul laugh and the sound was music to Hankyung's ears.
"I…Heechul are you serious?" he asked swallowing hard.
"Yeah, yeah, shut up and kiss me."
Hankyung laughed, but Heechul silenced him with a kiss that made his heart swell.
A/N: *sob* It's over. I'm done. Goodbye Hanchul. Okkkkaaayyyy, so for you guys, I have more planned. This part is done and over, but I'm editing the "sequel" to this fic at the moment. The next part is called "Things Happen" and it's a five story series (meaning there will be five fics after Hanchul that have to do with the Golden Boys and F3) The next part will be focused on Eunhae (haehyuk or hyukhae I can't tell what it is, you guys have to tell me) but will have all the pairings and there will be a super special surprise =D So, do come back pleaseee for that one <3 I love you all for following this series and I hope to see you guys soon. I will be taking a few days off and I'll be back to post on Saturday. Enjoy this until then and I'll be back. I promise. <33333
