Add a colorful feather (Chp 1/5)

A/N: Thanks for your continuous support you guys. I will get back to each and every single comment on the previous stories, just felt like posting this up. Enjoy!

Eunhyuk still couldn’t believe he was in the school. He had never been exceptional at school. He’d done well sure, but the perfect student he wasn’t. He wasn’t like his best friend Hankyung who excelled at school and dancing.

All he Eunhyuk could do was dance and he was good at that. It had been his dancing that got him into the school. At least he wasn’t too different from his other best friend, Yesung.

Yesung wasn’t too good at school either, but he did have that voice that made him famous. The three of them had the talent.

Eunhyuk was the one who helped when they had trouble with dancing, even though he was mostly helping Yesung. Hankyung’s own style of dancing clashed too much with his own. Yesung was the one who provided that singing lessons and Hankyung stayed up too many nights to help them study.

And now they were here. The school was called SM University, after the SM entertainment company that owned the school. It was basically a school for rich children who thought they had talent. But, ever since parents started complaining, the school had started taking in more scholarship students.

That new rule had divided the school into those who got in because they had talent and those who paid their way in. This year had been tougher than the last few years. Only three scholarships had been given and that he had gotten in meant a lot to Eunhyuk.

“Eunhyuk!”

Eunhyuk turned around just as Yesung slammed into him. He was just righting himself when Hankyung jumped on him.

“Hyung, get off.” Eunhyuk muttered shoving off Hankyung.

“What is this? Aren’t you glad to see us or has getting into SM gotten to your head?” Hankyung asked helping Yesung up.

“No, but you’re going to ruin my uniform.” Eunhyuk complained.

“Oh no, the uniform!” Yesung exclaimed rushing over to dust Eunhyuk off.

“Stop Yesung. I’m fine.”

Yesung dropped his hands and Eunhyuk felt a stab of guilt at the hurt expression on Yesung’s face.

“I’m sorry.” He whispered.

“What’s wrong Eunhyuk?” Hankyung asked.

He sighed. There was no point in trying to explain. He shoved his hands in his pants and kicked at a rock on the floor.

“Eunhyuk? Hello?” Yesung said waiving his hand in front of Eunhyuk’s face.

“It’s nothing.”

“My dearest Monkey, there is something on your mind as your friend I feel the need to remind you that you cannot hide secrets from us.”

Eunhyuk stared open mouthed at Hankyung. “What was that?”

Hankyung shrugged. “I’m practicing.”

“You don’t need to practice.” Eunhyuk said even as his mood plummeted. “You’re perfect for this school and Yesung has those cheekbones.”

He trailed off and looked at his friends. Hankyung with the school uniform looked cool, not to mention his original good looks. His hyung was the type that could make anything look good and his smile had a similar effect on people as Yesung’s voice. Add to that his dancing and Hankyung was the perfect leader and he was modest to a fault.

Yesung with his short hair and high cheekbones would blend easily and with his voice, he would shine. Yesungie was sweet and kind and even though he did have a sort of weird tinge to him, it was just part of his charm, not to mention that he looked good in the almost tux like uniform they had to wear.

He, Eunhyuk, on the other hand had never been one of the good looking ones. He had always been the one in the back, the one that shone only because his friends did.

“Eunhyuk.” Hankyung said putting a hand on his shoulder. “What are you talking about? Who gave you the crazy idea that I was perfect for this school?”

“Well, you’re good looking, both of you are.”

“Ah, Eunhyuk, Eunhyuk, Eunhyuk, where did you get that low self-esteem from? You aren’t ugly.” Hankyung said shaking his head.

“No, he’s not. He’s pretty cute actually.” Yesung said scrutinizing Eunhyuk’s face. “I liked his face, don’t you Hankyung-sshi?”

“I do. I mean, if I weren’t so against dating anyone at the moment, I would have a go.”

“Aw, stop it Hankyung, you’re making him blush.” Yesung laughed.

Eunhyuk took a swing at them and missed.

“No fair Hankyung took martial arts all his life.” Eunhyuk complained.

“I didn’t.” Yesung intoned. “You’re just slow, Eunhyuk.”

Eunhyuk frowned. Her sighed and retrieved his bag from the floor. Even though his friends were teasing, he couldn’t help but feel a little better.

“And besides…” Hankyung said slinging an arm around Eunhyuk.

“…you can add colorful feather to a hen, but underneath it all, it’s still a hen.” Yesung finished coming over to Eunhyuk’s other side.

“And which are we?” Eunhyuk asked as they neared the doors to the large, very large, school grounds.

“We are the peacocks and these, my friend,” Hankyung said motioning to the students nearby. “These are the hens.”
