Arrangement

---

Kyuhyun is gone when Sungmin wakes up. He sees the note in the kitchen counter as he’s making his coffee.

Sungmin, I went to find Zhou Mi. Please just stay here. I’ll come back. I promise.

Sungmin thinks understanding is an overrated bitch with a litter of fucking puppies.

He doesn’t like it.

He spends the better half of an hour fixing the pile of books on the coffee table before he throws them onto the bookshelf where they belong. He changes three times, screws that over and changes back to the clothes he had on first. It’s not like he’s worried about Kyuhyun and Zhou Mi. No, why the fuck would he be worried about his boyfriend being alone with the guy he slept with while Sungmin was passed out on a hospital bed.

“Fuck.” Sungmin says. “Fuck, fucking fuck, just fuck.”

It helps, even if it doesn’t completely calm him down. He’s still pacing when he hears the lock on the door. Sungmin bites down on his lips, sits down on the couch, gets up and sits back down, fast enough to make Flash dizzy.

“Come in.” Sungmin hears Kyuhyun say.

“Kui Xian, I don’t think I should be here.”

Sungmin knows that voice. He takes a deep breath, looks at the coffee table. They got a dark wood colored one so that it could match with the bookshelf. Or more like Sungmin bought it while Kyuhyun waited at home. Everything in the house Sungmin picked out, but it was for them, for him and Kyuhyun. There was never another person involved in the transaction. It was just Sungmin and Kyuhyun.

“Min?” Kyuhyun says.

Sungmin looks up. Kyuhyun is standing next to Zhou Mi, their hands folded together. Sungmin notes that Zhou Mi has enough decency to look embarrassed as he stands there. It’s a point in his favor, albeit a small one.

“Sungmin-sshi.” Zhou Mi says, bowing.

Sungmin laughs. “We don’t have to do this. We both know why you’re here and it would be stupid to pretend we don’t.”

Zhou Mi looks at him. Sungmin doesn’t know what he’s expecting. He never knew what to expect from Zhou Mi because he just never knew him well enough. He knows what he wants to see in those eyes. He wants to see something that will let him believe that Zhou Mi is bad. He wants to see something that will stain the image that Kyuhyun has of Zhou Mi. He needs something, anything to make Zhou Mi the bad guy.

Sungmin knows it’s a lost cause before it even starts. He’s seen Zhou Mi. He has watched Zhou Mi and he knows that there is nothing evil about Zhou Mi. Sungmin knows, as he looks into Zhou Mi’s eyes, that no matter how hard he looks he won’t find anything. Zhou Mi is like a kid, innocent, pure. It’s probably one of the reasons Kyuhyun is so attached. Zhou Mi is just as innocent as Kyuhyun can be, and infinitely more gentle.

“I don’t really know why I’m here.” Zhou Mi says. “Kui Xian called me and asked that I meet him. And that’s all I know about why I’m here.”

“Mi,” Kyuhyun says, “I just…I needed you to be here when I say what I have to say.”

Sungmin takes a breath. They are in their house, his and Kyuhyun’s. That has to mean something about what Kyuhyun has decided.

“I love Sungmin.”

Sungmin exhales.

Zhou Mi nods. “Right, I knew that. I really didn’t need to be dragged over here Kui Xian.”

“Wait,” Kyuhyun says latching on to Zhou Mi as he walks away, “wait, Mi, please.”

Zhou Mi stops, looks at Sungmin, but Sungmin doesn’t know what’s going on.

“I love you Mi.” Kyuhyun says.

Zhou Mi looks at Sungmin again and they both know it’s not a lie. Nothing Kyuhyun has said is a lie.

“I don’t understand.” Zhou Mi says.

“I love you both and I know this is stupid, but can you please try to get to know each other. Just, maybe we can find a way to make this work out.” Kyuhyun says looking down at his feet.

It occurs to Sungmin that maybe Zhou Mi was right, that maybe Kyuhyun does need to be taken care of more than he lets on. Zhou Mi glances at Kyuhyun then looks at Sungmin. It takes Sungmin a while to realize that Zhou Mi is asking for permission.

Another point in Zhou Mi’s favor, he thinks as he nods.

“It’s okay Kui Xian.” Zhou Mi says stepping in front of Kyuhyun.

Sungmin would be lying if he said that it doesn’t bother him to see Zhou Mi with his arms around Kyuhyun. It bothers him. A lot. But, Kyuhyun is leaning into Zhou Mi’s hug and Sungmin thinks that he looks so vulnerable, so small.

“What do you want Kyuhyun?” Sungmin asks.

He’s the adult. He’s the oldest, the one who thinks things through. He should have better control over this situation, whatever it is.

Kyuhyun pulls away from Zhou Mi, holds his hand out. Sungmin moves forward and Zhou Mi moves away.

“I want you to let him stay.” Kyuhyun says. “Let him be in my life, in our life.”

“Kui Xian.” Zhou Mi says. “That’s…you shouldn’t…”

“Mi,” Kyuhyun says, “Mi, I love you. I want you to stay. It’s been months and I still think about you. Please, just, let me have this. If you love me, then let me have this. Please.”

Sungmin sighs. “Stay, Zhou Mi.”

Sungmin can see the surprise on Zhou Mi’s face, the happiness in Kyuhyun’s. He does it because he knows what this is. This is Kyuhyun not knowing what he wants. This is like Siwon and his confusion over Han Geng and Heechul. This is something that will pass. It has to pass because things like this always pass. Kyuhyun just needs to get over this and Sungmin says yes because he’s rather Kyuhyun did this in the open then where Sungmin couldn’t see him.

“Sit.” Sungmin says.

Zhou Mi blushes his thanks and sits on the couch. Kyuhyun sits next to him and Sungmin sits too. He looks at Zhou Mi and knows that Zhou Mi understands. This, whatever it is, will burn out. Kyuhyun will decide and when he does they both know that one of them will have to walk out.

“Sungmin,” Kyuhyun says taking Sungmin’s hand, “this is Zhou Mi. Zhou Mi, this is Sungmin.”

“Hello.” Zhou Mi says.

“Hello.” Sungmin answers.

And that’s how it all starts.

---

Sungmin is making breakfast, three weeks later.

“Hurry up Kyuhyun.” He calls. “Zhou Mi is going to come pick you up in ten minutes.”

It’s not fun this thing with Zhou Mi. It’s not exactly bad either. Sungmin really can’t tell what it is. Zhou Mi and Kyuhyun only spend time together when Sungmin is there, like Zhou Mi wants to assure him that he and Kyuhyun do nothing. Sungmin isn’t disappointed. He kind of likes that Zhou Mi respects him enough to do it.

It makes things easier between the three of them. It makes their routine easier. It’s been the same all three weeks. Sungmin and Kyuhyun sleep in the same house and Zhou Mi always goes back home to the apartment he shares with Han Geng and Heechul. The same Han Geng and Heechul that Siwon once loved.

It makes sense to Sungmin now why it was that Siwon of all angels or things talked to him. Siwon was the one that had some connection to Sungmin, through Kyuhyun and Zhou Mi. It’s funny how the world just knew that Sungmin would one day end up with Zhou Mi.

“Good morning.” Kyuhyun says coming into the kitchen. “I love you.”

Sungmin says nothing, just hands Kyuhyun his coffee. Kyuhyun mumbles something and disappears into their room again. Kyuhyun is in a musical, one that Zhou Mi recommended him to. It should bother him, might have bothered him at first, but Sungmin has learned that there are certain things he should keep to himself.

Kyuhyun loves Zhou Mi and Sungmin knows it’s not wise to try to outdo Zhou Mi. He thanks Zhou Mi. It will all work out better in the long run if Sungmin can get along with Zhou Mi, or pretend to.
Sungmin knows who the knock on the door is. He opens it because even though Zhou Mi has keys, he doesn’t use them.

“Good morning Sungmin.” Zhou Mi says flashing that happy smile.

Sungmin nods. He always nods. “Good morning.”

“How are you?”

Sungmin narrows his eyes. “Fine.”

“Do you need help with that?” Zhou Mi tries again, eager, too eager.

“No.”

“Did you have breakfast yet then?” Zhou Mi goes on digging through one of the bags he brought. “I have orange juice. I noticed you didn’t have any last night.”

Sungmin takes the carton. He doesn’t like how nice Zhou Mi is. It always puts him on edge, like he’s missing something, like he should be on guard.

“Thank you.”

Zhou Mi smiles. “So, how are the guitar lessons?”

“Fine.”

Zhou Mi nods and says nothing. Sungmin feels bad, just for a second. He blames it all on Zhou Mi. That look on Zhou Mi’s face: sad. Sadness just doesn’t belong on Zhou Mi’s face. Sungmin can tell that much. It’s like watching a puppy cry. Zhou Mi just shouldn’t be sad.

“Thank you for the orange juice Zhou Mi.” Sungmin says. “I really didn’t want to go out and get some.”

Zhou Mi beams, the smile practically falling out of his face it’s so big. Sungmin feels just a tiny bit guilty.

“How is your shop doing Zhou Mi?”

“Great.” Zhou Mi says. “Geng gege and Heechul are both amazing at keeping it running while I design.”

Sungmin has learned about Zhou Mi. He knows that Zhou Mi is a fashion designer, a good one. He knows that Zhou Mi owns a shop and that his friends, Heechul and Han Geng, help him run it. Sungmin knows that Zhou Mi doesn’t like to smoke. He knows that Zhou Mi is happy, too happy a lot of the time. Sungmin knows that Zhou Mi likes to hug, Kyuhyun especially, although there was that one time where Zhou Mi hugged him.

It was only once, but Sungmin knows that if he weren’t so closed to it, Zhou Mi would do it again. Even now, Sungmin is still not sure why he lets Zhou Mi stay. He knows that Zhou Mi is a nice person, but that doesn’t erase the fact that Zhou Mi is in the way of Sungmin’s old life. Sungmin knows it’s a bad idea because the longer Zhou Mi stays the more he’ll belong. And the more he belongs, the easier it will be for Sungmin to accept him.

“Zhou Mi.” Kyuhyun yells when he sees Zhou Mi with his legs crossed and sitting at the kitchen counter.

Sungmin watches as Kyuhyun presses a quick kiss on Zhou Mi’s cheek. Sungmin gets one too and then Kyuhyun is taking Zhou Mi’s hand and pulling him out the door. Sungmin catches a glimpse of Zhou Mi’s smile again and he can’t help but wonder what it would be like to actually cause that smile.

---

It happens one day when Kyuhyun is working late. It is bound to happen. Sungmin knows it’s only a matter of time. When people spend time together, they end up liking each other. It was why he didn’t like the idea of spending time with Zhou MI.

From the very beginning he knew that if he ever talked to Zhou Mi, he would end up liking the Chinese man. Zhou Mi is not someone that many people can dislike, not with those eyes and that face that can smile so wide. Zhou Mi is pretty, nice, calm, gentle. Sungmin doesn’t love him, doesn’t even like him, but he doesn’t hate him.

Zhou Mi is routine. Zhou Mi belongs now.

The knock on the door surprises Sungmin that night. He doesn’t expect Zhou Mi because Zhou Mi is never there without Kyuhyun. He opens the door anyway because it’s just Zhou Mi.

Hello.” Zhou Mi says. “Is Kyuhyun home?”

“No, he’s working late.” Sungmin says. “But come in. We can have coffee or something.”

Sungmin is being extra nice today. He doesn’t understand it himself, but he goes with it because it doesn’t hurt to be nice once in a while. He shoos Zhou Mi over to the living room and goes to the kitchen to get the coffee.

He knows Zhou Mi likes his coffee with lots of milk, lots of sugar too, whipped cream if Sungmin has any. He does and he’s making a mess of it, adding the thing to coffee and adding chocolate syrup on top of that. He knows he should be worried, cholesterol and diabetes ring somewhere in the back of his head, but he figures, it’s a onetime thing.

“Here you go.” Sungmin says handing Zhou Mi his cup. “It’s my secret recipe.”

Zhou Mi smiles. “Thank you.”

They sit there for a while. It’s awkward, weird and Sungmin doesn’t like it.

“Zhou Mi, can I ask you a question?”

Zhou Mi nods as he swallows a mouthful of whipped cream. “Yes.”

Sungmin looks at Zhou Mi’s long legs crossed one over the other. Even drinking coffee, Zhou Mi looks like he’s coming out of a magazine. Pretty, perfect, pale skin, moisturized just the right way. Zhou Mi knows how to dress, how to look pretty. Sungmin likes that about him.

“Why did you say yes to this?” Sungmin asks.

There is only a small flash of surprise at the question.

“I love Kui Xian.”

There is no hesitation. Sungmin likes it. He looks at Zhou Mi. Their eyes meet and Sungmin knows that Zhou Mi knows where he’s going with this.

“Why do you stay?”

Zhou Mi smiles, puts his cup down. “I stay because I like it. I thought I wouldn’t. I thought that I would be gone by the end of the first day, but I didn’t go. I stayed because I love Kui Xian. I want to be with him. It’s still true. He is the reason I agreed to this, but…”

“But?” Sungmin asks. “But what?”

“You’re a really good reason to stay too.”

Sungmin turns, looking for the lie even as Zhou Mi meets his eyes. They look at each other and Sungmin knows there is no lie.

People say that the eyes are windows to the soul. Sungmin thinks that if that’s true then Zhou Mi has a very dark, dirty soul. He can’t see anything but black eyes looking at him. Even so, he knows that Zhou Mi isn’t lying.

“Zhou Mi.”

Zhou Mi smiles, “I’ll just go then. Please tell Kyuhyun that I had something to do and that I’m sorry.”

Sungmin watches Zhou Mi get up. Zhou Mi is halfway out the door before he reacts. Then, he’s up, hand circling around Zhou Mi’s wrist.

“Wait.” He says.

Zhou Mi waits.

Those eyes are looking at him again and Sungmin wonders how he didn’t see it before. It’s there. It’s there in Zhou Mi’s eyes as they look at each other. Zhou Mi is afraid, afraid of how Sungmin is going to react to that confession back there.

“Don’t be afraid.” Sungmin says.

And then he’s leaning forward, lips brushing against Zhou Mi’s because he knows why Kyuhyun won’t let him go. He knows that it’s because Zhou MI’s lips just fit right there. It’s because Zhou Mi has soft hair and even softer smiles. It’s because Zhou Mi is everything Sungmin isn’t, everything Kyuhyun isn’t. it’s because Zhou Mi belongs there.

“I want to take you shopping.” Sungmin says when he pulls away. “Just me and you.”

Zhou Mi says yes, but leaves and Sungmin lets him.

When Kyuhyun comes home it’s to find Sungmin sitting on the couch and staring at the cup of coffee on the table.

“Min is something wrong?” Kyuhyun asks.

Sungmin looks up as Kyuhyun sits next to him. “Nope.”

“Then what happened? Where’s Zhou Mi?”

Sungmin looks at Kyuhyun. “You know what? I think I like Zhou Mi.”

---

Shopping with Zhou Mi is fun. It doesn’t surprise Sungmin much. He was expecting it. He likes the way Zhou Mi suddenly turns into a five year old kid when they go into the stores. It’s like Sungmin has let loose a hyper active child into a candy store.

It’s fun and he lets Zhou Mi dress him in many different outfits. They come out of the first store with just one though because Zhou Mi insists that it’s not smart to buy everything in the first store.

“I like shopping with you.” Sungmin says when he and Zhou MI finally sit down.

They have three bags each, nothing too big. There’s still the whole matter of the curtains for the living room, but Zhou Mi said they could get to that after lunch.

“I like to shop.” Zhou Mi says, his smile real for the first time since Sungmin has known him. “And I like shopping with you too.”

They sit and talk. Sungmin thinks he pokes his nose too much into Zhou Mi’s business, but Zhou Mi answers each and every one of his questions. Zhou Mi is Chinese. His parents let him come to Korea to study and he met Han Geng at the university. Zhou Mi’s been living with him ever since then. Heechul is a new addition. Sungmin hears the whole story about Siwon again. He feels it’s only right.

“So,” Zhou Mi says when he’s done telling Sungmin about the pet dog he once had, “do you want to go see curtains first or more clothes?”

Sungmin yawns and gets up. “Whatever you want Zhou Mi.”

“Really?”

Sungmin smiles, takes Zhou Mi’s hand in his and pulls. “Yes, really, now hurry up. We need to have time to catch that movie.”

“We’re going to see a movie?” Zhou Mi asks, eyes wide.

Sungmin grins. “Yes, we are. What did you think we were going to do?”

Sungmin thinks he quite likes surprising Zhou Mi. He definitely likes the way Zhou Mi is bouncing around, all smiles as they go from store to store. It’s new, but Sungmin thinks he can get used to it, to Zhou Mi’s hand in his, Zhou Mi’s arm warm around his shoulder. He likes the way Zhou Mi takes pictures of them in every store.

“For memories.” Zhou Mi explains as he snaps a picture of them in matching hats.

They have a phone full of pictures and shopping bags when they get to the apartment. Kyuhyun is waiting for them, Sungmin can tell, but then he knows Zhou Mi can tell too.

“Hello.” Zhou Mi says helping Sungmin with the bags.

Kyuhyun looks at them and Sungmin wants to laugh. He leans over and presses a small kiss on the side of Zhou Mi’s mouth.

“We didn’t kill each other if that’s what you’re wondering.” Sungmin says.

Kyuhyun shakes his head. “Mi, are you sure you’re okay? Sungmin didn’t go crazy on you?”

Zhou Mi shakes his head and sits down on the couch. Sungmin watches as Kyuhyun opens his arms so that Zhou Mi can fit right there. It’s not weird anymore. It’s normal because Zhou MI belongs here, with them, in their house.

“Stay.” Sungmin says to take Zhou Mi.

Zhou Mi looks at him, the question in his eyes. He looks so scared, lost, like he needs to be assured that he belongs there. Sungmin sees it. He knows Kyuhyun can see it too, but Sungmin knows that it’s not Kyuhyun Zhou Mi needs. It’s him, Sungmin, who has to assure Zhou Mi that he belongs. It has to be him because he’s the one who has been pushing Zhou Mi away.

“Stay.” Sungmin repeats sitting down besides Zhou Mi.

“Are you sure?” Zhou Mi asks.

Sungmin nods, twining his fingers with Zhou Mi’s. “I’m sure. Stay. Not just today.”

“Thank you.” Zhou Mi says, leaning into Sungmin’s hug.

Sungmin looks over Zhou Mi’s head at Kyuhyun. They both know what happens now, what needs to happen for Zhou Mi to know that Sungmin means this.

“Mi.” Kyuhyun whispers, his lips brushing the back of Zhou Mi’s neck.

Sungmin can feel Zhou Mi shiver in his arms.

“It’s okay.” Sungmin says rubbing comforting circles on Zhou Mi’s back.

“Come.” Kyuhyun says pulling Zhou Mi up. “Come with me.”

Sungmin watches as Kyuhyun pulls Zhou Mi into their bedroom. He takes a quick look around the living room, but everything is fine. When he gets to the room Kyuhyun has Zhou Mi already out his shirt and pressed into the mattress. It’s all a field of white skin and Sungmin wants to touch it.

He watches as Zhou Mi melts under Kyuhyun’s fingers, back arching into Kyuhyun’s hand. Sungmin loves the smooth whiteness of that long neck. He wants to bite it, suck on it, pull the skin between his teeth until he leaves a bruise. Possession. He wants to mark Zhou Mi as his, as his and Kyuhyun’s.

“Zhou Mi.” he whispers crawling onto the bed and over to Zhou Mi.

Kyuhyun is working on pulling Zhou Mi’s pants away and Sungmin can have a go at that white neck. He sinks his teeth into the hollow of Zhou MI’s throat, hums at the low moans that falls from Zhou Mi’s lips. He likes this, Sungmin realizes. He likes Zhou Mi feeling this because of him.

Sungmin moves a hand into Zhou Mi’s hair, pulls on it so that Zhou Mi’s mouth meets his. Lips press against lips. Warm. Zhou Mi is warm and supple, melting against Sungmin’s mouth. Sungmin takes his time, wants to learn all he can about Zhou Mi. Kyuhyun knows already, but Sungmin doesn’t.

Sungmin pushes Kyuhyun away, takes his place in front of Zhou Mi. It’s slow, as slow as Sungmin can take it. He makes it to Zhou Mi’s collarbones, is stuck there, his mouth working against the bones. There is something about Zhou MI’s neck, white pale neck, long. Sungmin likes Zhou Mi’s neck. He likes the way he can feel Zhou Mi moaning as his lips work on Zhou Mi’s Adam’s apple.

“Kyuhyun.” Sungmin calls.

Kyuhyun comes over, settles behind Sungmin. Kyuhyun lets one hand trail up Sungmin’s back, the other is by Zhou Mi’s head, playing with the red strands.

“Zhou Mi.” Sungmin says. “Move.”

Zhou Mi moves and Sungmin takes his place on the bed, legs wrapping themselves around Zhou Mi’s waist. Sungmin throws his hands around Zhou Mi’s neck, pulls him down so that their mouths meet. Sungmin shows Zhou Mi exactly what he wants, tongue moving against Zhou Mi’s in a way that is almost sinful.

“I want you.” Sungmin says.

It means a lot, he knows. He can tell by the way Zhou Mi kisses the side of his face. Kyuhyun is there too, moving behind Zhou Mi, doing things that make Zhou Mi shudder above Sungmin. Sungmin closes his eyes as Zhou Mi’s hand move lower, fingers stretching.

“Mi.” Kyuhyun says, his voice low with need.

Zhou Mi makes a small kneeing noise and Sungmin gasps. It’s hot as Zhou Mi finds his way into Sungmin, too warm and they move. Sungmin gasps into Zhou Mi’s mouth, swallowing down the cries from Zhou Mi. Kyuhyun moves and Zhou Mi is arching his back, shaking as he tries to pay attention to Sungmin.

It’s okay. It’s okay because Sungmin is too gone to really notice how Zhou Mi’s thrusts have lost their rhythm. Zhou Mi hovers over him, breath in Sungmin’s ear. Zhou Mi’s pants chorus his and then Kyuhyun moves again sending Zhou Mi deeper into Sungmin and they lose it.

They fall together, settle into some sort of comfort. Sungmin doesn’t even notice as Zhou Mi pulls a cover over them. He’s asleep even before Kyuhyun’s head has fully hit the pillow.

---

“Why do we have to meet your friends?” Kyuhyun asks for the tenth time.

“Because,” Sungmin says as he adjusts Zhou Mi’s shirt, “Zhou Mi spends lots of time with them. It’s good to know his friends.”

“It’s not like he lives with them anymore.” Kyuhyun complains. “He lives with us. We don’t need to meet them.”

“Kui Xian.” Zhou Mi scolds. “Han Geng gege and Heechul want to meet you too. It’s just a walk around the shop. We’re not going to have dinner or anything…this time.”

“Oh no.” Kyuhyun says waiving away Zhou Mi. “I am not having dinner with Han Geng.”

“But you don’t even know Han Geng.” Sungmin says.

“I don’t need to know him. He likes to touch Zhou Mi too much.”

Sungmin smiles, comes over to put his arms around Zhou Mi. “I like to touch Zhou Mi.”

Kyuhyun shakes his head. “It’s not the same thing.”

“Stop being such a baby.” Sungmin says picking up Zhou Mi’s bag and handing it to him. “Hurry up.”

They get into the car. Kyuhyun complains all the way, but Sungmin doesn’t really listen. He is too busy listening to Zhou Mi talk about the new models he’s picked up. There is a fashion show for the fall styles and Zhou Mi has been asked to join. Sungmin thinks it’s only fair that he show the proper enthusiasm for both him and Kyuhyun.

“You know, you can always use Kyuhyun as a model if one of yours doesn’t make it.” Sungmin says as Zhou Mi pulls into the parking lot.

Zhou Mi looks back at Kyuhyun who is sitting in the back refusing to look at either of them.

“Kui Xian would make a pretty model. I can do his makeup.” Zhou Mi nods. “We can start practicing at home.”

“No.” Kyuhyun says as he gets out of the car.

Sungmin laughs and follows.

“Quit sulking.” Sungmin says taking Kyuhyun’s hand.

“I am not sulking.”

Zhou Mi laughs and presses a kiss on Kyuhyun’s lips. “You are sulking.”

“You know,” Kyuhyun says, “when I asked for you two to get along I didn’t mean for you two to get along so well that I’d be the one getting picked on. We’re supposed to be picking on Zhou Mi or Sungmin.”

Sungmin clicks his tongue. “Zhou Mi’s a lot smarter than that.”

“No he isn’t.”

Sungmin turns and there standing by the door is Heechul. It has to be Heechul because he knows what Han Geng looks like.

“Heechul.” Zhou Mi says going over to hug the pretty man with the long hair and smirk.

“Hello seasoning. Is this why you have abandoned me and Hannie?”

Sungmin frowns. He stands there, eyebrows raised as Heechul looks him up and down. He gets a small nod and then Heechul moves on to Kyuhyun. Sungmin can feel the defiance pouring out of Kyuhyun. He puts a hand on Kyuhyun’s arm just to assure himself that Kyuhyun isn’t going to do anything dumb.

“You must be Kyuhyun.” Heechul says.

“Yes.”

“Nice piece of work you are.” Heechul snarls.

Sungmin frowns and Zhou Mi looks like he doesn’t know what to do.

“Heechul.” Zhou Mi says.

“Shush Seasoning.” Heechul says. “I’m trying to make a point here.”

“Geng gege.” Zhou Mi says and Sungmin sees Han Geng come out of the shop.

“Hello Zhou Mi.” Han Geng says. “We weren’t expecting you until later.”

“I told Heechul we would be here half an hour ago.”

Sungmin watches Han Geng. He almost smiles at the eye roll the Chinese man gives the sky.

“Heechul said you’d be here in half an hour.” Han Geng says frowning at Heechul. “I didn’t know we were lying to each other already. Are you secretly having an affair too?”

Heechul smirks. “I am. He’s hotter than you. That’s why I make you buy me everything. I’m saving my money to give to him.”

“How hot?” Han Geng asks wrapping his arms around Heechul.

“So hot.” Heechul answers.

“What’s his name?”

“Hankyung.”

Han Geng laughs and let’s go of Heechul. Sungmin looks over at Heechul who looks kind of dazed.

“I’m sorry.” Han Geng says at the pained look on Zhou Mi’s face. “I’m Han Geng. That’s Heechul. He’s crazy. Please disregard whatever nonsense comes out of his mouth.”

“Fuck you.” Heechul calls.

“Later.” Is the answer he gets from Han Geng.

It turns out Han Geng and Heechul are a lot more fun and laid back than Sungmin expected. It’s fun. They talk, get a tour of the store. Kyuhyun even loosens up enough to trade insults with Heechul. All in all it’s not a bad first meeting and they even have a planned dinner for later that week.

“You owe me.” Kyuhyun says when they all get back into the car.

Zhou Mi turns his blinding smile on Kyuhyun. “Okay. Whatever you want.”

“I’m serious.” Kyuhyun says as Sungmin pulls away. “You both owe me.”

“You know,” Sungmin says. “I kind of like Heechul.”

Zhou Mi grins. “Heechul is amazing. He’ll love you once he gets to know you. And Han Geng gege likes you already.”

Sungmin nods. “Yeah, Kyuhyun you need to get along with Hankyung. You and him are going to be spending a lot of time together.”

“Fine.” Kyuhyun says. “Fine, just get me home. I’m serious. You both owe me and I want payment as soon as we get home.”

Sungmin laughs because really, all things considered, this is not a bad arrangement.

a/n: this is where I say something about how long this is and how annoying it was and whatever, but I'm too tired.

KJALGKJAKGJA:GHKJ THIS. THIS IS AMAZING AND WONDERFUL, AND I LOVE YOU SO MUCH FOR IT.
I know that it was hard for you, but I am so happy that you kept going with it and wrote such a wonderful fic for me ♥ I woke up this afternoon morning and started to read it right away, and it seriously made my day. You're crazy if you think it wasn't what I asked for. It was even better than the vague idea that I gave you for what I wanted ♥
SO HERE WE GO. 8D

He can pretend that he is sleeping and that Kyuhyun is touching him, gentle fingers running up his arms like Kyuhyun used to do back in their apartment. He learns to pretend, to live in those touches.
This is so heartbreaking and beautiful that I didn't know what to with myself. I think it was the beginning of me wanting to cry.

His car accident is an important one, but Kyuhyun crying that way, with such abandon, with such pain, that breaks Sungmin’s heart.
Kyu crying over Min's bed is so sad D:

“Kyuhyun.” Sungmin said. “Please. I’m right here. Listen to me. Right here Kyu. I’m right here.”
POOR MIN. Everything was just so beautiful and the way that you were writing Sungmin had me so immersed in it that I could feel his frustration and hurt. ANA WHY ARE YOU SO GOOD AT THIS.

I would quote more about Kyu coming in and telling Min that he was going to try to let go, but I just. I don't know what to say about how sad it made me. They were both hurting so much that it made me want to hold them forever D:

It is comfortable for some reason. He gets this sort of peace from Siwon, something that calms him and Sungmin stays there. He stays next to Siwon because he hasn’t felt calm in a long time.
This is so sweet :o Min really needed him.

Also, Siwon's story made me so sad! But I guess at the same time it made me happy because HanChul got together and Siwon found peace with it.

Sungmin watches because he can’t leave. Every single touch between them, every gentle caress burns into his heart. Kyuhyun cries, his breath going ragged as he moves over and over into Zhou Mi. Sungmin watches him, watches the way Kyuhyun loses himself in Zhou Mi’s soft cries. Kyuhyun used to lose himself that way with him.
MIN STOP LOOKING. IT'S ONLY GOING TO HURT MORE. *sobs*

He can’t because that look in Zhou Mi’s eyes is full of something that Sungmin is afraid of.

Love.

Zhou Mi is in love with Kyuhyun.

I would be scared too D: Min hating Mi is so perfect. I just feel so sorry for him. Because of course, he can't hate Kyu. Even if Kyu is in love with someone else too.

Zhou Mi flashes him a pretty smile. Sungmin thinks that Zhou Mi is a beautiful actor. Fake. That’s all he can see because Zhou Mi can’t be real. Sungmin doesn’t want him to be real. Sungmin wishes he were gone, not there. He doesn’t want Zhou Mi’s eyes looking at him, so sad and still so happy.
And I say again, POOR MIN. But he's so strong anyway D:

“One of us has to go.” Sungmin says.
BUT MIN. MI IS SO PRETTY AND CUTE AND SWEET.,

There’s no one there, not for Sungmin. It’s just him and Kyuhyun, both of them tangled in an embrace so tight there’s no way to tell them apart. He’s been waiting for this, untainted, pure, just him and Kyuhyun.

“I love you.” Sungmin whispers.

Kyuhyun pulls away, their eyes lock. “I love you too.”

Sungmin believes him.

This is so beautiful and poetic. And exactly what Min needed after all of that time he was alone and hurting.

“No, no,” Kyuhyun says reaching over to take Sungmin’s face in his hand, “you don’t get it. I want him. I love him. But, I love you and I want you too. It’s…it’s just so damn frustrating.”

Oh Kyu, you're so selfish. But I can understand why... It's just. It's hurting so many people...

So. I will post a comment about the second half tomorrow. I'm pretty sure that this is long enough for now. :x

I was definitely going to write a part two to the comment, but then finals took over my life and traveling and... Well anyway. I'm sure that you can tell how much I loved this anyway <3

I told you to write me something angsty, since that's what you are so amazing with, so blame me for sad Min and hated MiMi DDD:
BUT. YES.
Min and MiMi should always be happy and loved and Kyu just needs to be kicked in the rear end a couple times to set him straight. OR BE TIED DOWN AND FORCED TO WATCH THEM TOGETHER *cough* Right.

Anyway, it was wonderful and amazing, and I do love you even more than I thought I did before <3 NEVERENDING COOKIES FOR YOU 8D
