Things Happen IV 8/9
Title: Things Happen IV 8/9 (part of the Golden Boy AU)
Pairing: Main!Kyumin, Hanchul, Zhou Ry
Rating: PG-13
Genre: drama, romance
A/N: Okay so I lied alright. I said I wasn't posting anything until December 21st but then Chels said she was eating chocolate and I feel like I NEED to post something to make up for the Sihan and Hanchul angst from Sworn Brothers And so here I am to post this next chapter and as you will all see I lost the drama. It became a sort of light fluffy fic. And it just gets worse in the last part (the ZhouRy) D: But, okay here we go and that's it. I'm gone. Oh and the italics is Hannie and Zhou Mi talking in Mando
Sungmin couldn’t get Kyuhyun out of his head for many reasons. The main one was of course, what Kyuhyun had said to him or what Henry had said Kyuhyun said. He couldn’t have heard right. There must be some mistake.
Kyuhyun was in love with Zhou Mi. He said he was in love with Zhou Mi. Kyuhyun loved Zhou Mi, right?
But, if Kyuhyun loved Zhou Mi then Kyuhyun would spend more time with Zhou Mi. He would be angry that Hankyung was always dragging Zhou Mi away. Right?
Kyuhyun loved Zhou Mi.
That’s what Kyuhyun had told him.
He didn’t know what to make of it. Part of him was more than ready to go over there and demand an explanation. But, then the other part wasn’t too sure. It would have been so much easier if Zhou Mi had waited a little longer before he came. Just a few more minutes and Sungmin would have been fine because he would have made it clear to Kyuhyun exactly how he felt. If Zhou Mi had waited, Sungmin wouldn’t be doubting. But, he was because Zhou Mi hadn’t waited.
***
Kyuhyun knew something was wrong the minute Zhou Mi started asking him about clothes.
“I’m serious Kui Xian, does this look good or should I change?”
Kyuhyun rolled his eyes to the ceiling and wondered what he had done that was so wrong to deserve this torture.
“Mi, for the last time, there’s nothing wrong with that. We all wear basically the same thing. It’s called a uniform.”
“But, Sungmin wears the uniform so well.”
Kyuhyun shrugged. “So does Hankyung.”
“Han Geng, of course! He’ll know what to do. Thanks Kui Xian.”
Kyuhyun sighed as Zhou Mi grabbed everything on his bed and left. He counted to three and then Zhou Mi came back, dumped his things on the bed and went next door to get Hankyung.
“What is it Mi?” Hankyung asked.
Kyuhyun enjoyed a few minutes of watching Zhou Mi jump all over the place, but then Hankyung actually took him seriously and the fun left. That was until Heechul came in looking annoyed.
“Hankyung, what are you doing here? We were in the middle of something.”
Kyuhyun smirked. “He’s dressing Zhou Mi.”
“What do you need to dress him for? He’s old enough to do it himself.” Heechul said looking Zhou Mi up and down. “Nice legs.”
“Thank you.”
And just like that it was boring again. Kyuhyun sat back and watched as Heechul helped Hankyung pick out something for Zhou Mi. It all looked pretty much the same to Kyuhyun. He didn’t see the difference between one uniform and the next and when he tried to explain that to Zhou Mi, Heechul almost bit his head off.
Kyuhyun decided that for his safety, he would keep quiet. He watched them bored to death until Henry walked in. Then, things got really interesting.
Zhou Mi, who had been in the middle of buttoning his shirt, dropped the hat he had been holding and blushed bright red. Henry who had walked in all innocent and wide eyed didn’t see anything wrong, but Hankyung did.
And Kyuhyun did too. He saw the way Hankyung narrowed his eyes at Zhou Mi. He saw the way Zhou Mi refused to make eye contact with anyone. He saw the way Heechul eyed Hankyung and then Zhou Mi. And suddenly things were very interesting indeed.
“Henry, come here.” Hankyung said.
Kyuhyun watched as Henry obeyed. When he was close enough Hankyung pulled him close and messed up his hair. The smile that Hankyung gave Henry was indulgent like one a parent might give to a child.
“Henry, would you mind finding Sungmin and asking him to show you the dance studio. It’s been weeks and you haven’t seen it yet.” Hankyung said sweet as always.
Kyuhyun couldn’t enjoy the sheepish expression on Zhou Mi’s face because he was thinking of Henry and Sungmin again. The two had bonded over being cute, as if that was such a great accomplishment. But, Sungmin loved babying Henry, as a matter of fact, everyone babied Henry.
He was the new maknae. Kyuhyun had missed his position for the first few days and then he was over it. He enjoyed bossing Henry around and not having to call him hyung. It was refreshing.
“Be careful to keep your hands to yourself.” Kyuhyun called after Henry. “I’ll know where you put those hands.”
He ignored the roll of eyes from Heechul and turned back eager to Zhou Mi and Hankyung.
“Can you close the door?” Hankyung asked him.
“Can I stay?”
“Close the door.”
Kyuhyun smirked at Zhou Mi and closed the door. He went over and took his seat on the bed.
“Mi, you should close your shirt.” Kyuhyun called earning a glare.
“Can you tell me what that was Mi?”
“What was what?” Zhou Mi asked switching to Mandarin and ignoring Heechul’s protests.
“You know what. You like Henry.”
“I don’t know what you’re talking about Han Geng. I don’t like him. I just think he’s cute, but everyone does, even you. You’re always fawning over him.”
“Hello.” Heechul said waiving. “Remember me and Kyuhyun. We’re here too.”
“Actually hyung, I understand what they’re saying.” Kyuhyun frowning as he tried to keep up with the rapid conversation.
“Good. Translate. Now.”
“Hankyung hyung just said that Zhou Mi should know that Henry is adjusting to things in Korea. That Henry doesn’t need to be bombarded with sexually frustrated guys who can’t keep their…okay…um, I don’t know if I heard wrong or if Hankyung hyung really knows those words.”
“I did NOT say that.” Hankyung said leaving Zhou Mi alone for a second. I told him that he needs to let Henry adjust and that it’s bad enough that everyone fawns over the poor baby. He doesn’t need any more attention than what he has now.”
“He doesn’t even know us well enough to be fully open yet.” Hankyung continued as he turned to Zhou Mi. “The only one he really fully talks to besides me is Sungmin. You need to let him get to know you before you try anything. You’re older. You should know that you have to wait. He’s not even fully grown up yet.”
“You know that he’s old enough and besides you didn’t wait when it was you and Yesung. You went for it even though I told you that it would be better if you let him know slowly. You ignored what I had to say, so why should I listen to you.”
“You have to listen because I know what I’m saying. It was because I made that mistake that I’m telling you this. Mi, I don’t want you to get hurt. I want you to be happy and I want you to stay away from Henry until he’s mature enough to know how to handle the situation. You don’t even know if he likes guys. For all you know he could have a girlfriend.”
“And now Zhou Mi is saying how he doesn’t care what Hankyung says because Hankyung did whatever he wanted with Yesung hyung and that Zhou Mi can have the same fun if Hankyung did it first.” Kyuhyun said loudly.
“THAT’S NOT WHAT WE SAID!” Both Chinese men chorused.
“I was telling Zhou Mi how he should wait and see what Henry’s like because for all we know Henry doesn’t like guys.” Hankyung said.
“And I said that I think Henry is old enough to know what he wants and decide for himself.”
“And that hyung.” Kyuhyun smirked. “That is how you get people to tell you what you want to hear.”
Kyuhyun laughed at the glaring faces. He leaned back as Hankyung turned back to Zhou Mi.
“I’m not saying don’t do it. I’m just telling you to wait.”
“WAIT!” Kyuhyun said standing up. “You didn’t let Siwon near Yesung in the beginning. Why are you letting Zhou Mi near Henry?”
“Because,” Hankyung said. “If I have to give up my children, I’d rather lose them to people I know and trust.”
“You trust him?” Kyuhyun asked. “He doesn’t even know how to dress himself.”
“What is this Kyuhyun?” Heechul asked smirk on full blast. “You want to keep Henry to yourself?”
“No.” Kyuhyun answered with his own smirk. “I just like messing with Zhou Mi’s head.”
