Things Happen II 7/11
A/N: Well hello there precious babies. I am so happy today that I decided to watch a movie and then go read some fics and guess what I found...
ink_river10 updated her fic Two for the Road!!! Click here to read it. Go one guys! But, you might also want to read this chapter XD. More Hanchul for you all. I hope you like it.
Hankyung didn’t want to let go of Heechul’s hand. He liked it when they walked like this, but he wasn’t the boyfriend anymore. Siwon was the boyfriend, the doting fiancé. Hankyung frowned and slowed down as they neared the parking lot. He knew Heechul knew exactly what he was thinking because even though he was looking straight ahead, that smirk he was famous for was on his face.
“Hankyung, hyung.” Kyuhyun said smiling when he saw him.
Hankyung stopped moving. He felt Heechul pull against him, but didn’t move. He looked at Kyuhyun, at the happy, cheerful expression in that face and he felt like he’d been punched.
“Hankyung?” Yesung asked.
He looked at them all. His eyes went from Kyuhyun to Sungmin and back again. Sungmin raised an eyebrow and shook his head. Hankyung took a deep breath then smiled at Kyuhyun.
“Hey, kid.” He said. “How are you?”
“I’m good. Question is, are you okay?”
Hankyung frowned at the smirk on Kyuhyun’s face. He didn’t understand until he saw Kyuhyun point to his neck. He felt his face burn red and he turned away. But, he just got a clear view of Siwon and that raised eyebrow look.
“What?” he asked none too gently.
“Can I have my fiancé now?”
Hankyung glared at him. “I don’t like you.”
“Hankyung.” Yesung admonished.
“What?” Hankyung said turning to him. “I don’t have to like him. I just have to deal with him for a while.”
“Just for a while.” Heechul assured him walking over to Siwon.
Hankyung tried to adjust himself to the new contact between Heechul and Siwon. He told himself that it was temporary. He told himself that Heechul loved him. He told himself that Siwon was little to no competition. He even outright lied to himself and told himself that he didn’t find Siwon the least bit threatening.
But, that didn’t help. And it certainly didn’t help that Siwon was good looking and the squeals that rung from both sides of the campus didn’t help much either.
“Heechul, oppa has a boyfriend.”
“Omo, no way! Is that him? He’s so hot!”
“Wait, doesn’t that mean that the only ones we can have are Hankyung, Sungmin and Kyuhyun oppas?”
“What?”
“Hankyung, oppa! I love you!”
Hankyung had to smile. These girls didn’t know the first thing about love. He looked at Heechul who met his eyes right away. No, those girls didn’t know the first thing about love. They would never know, not until they fell in love themselves.
“Hankyung oppa?”
Hankyung looked down. He was looking at a pretty girl with a blush all over her face. He smiled at her and she turned away.
“What is it?” He asked.
“I wanted to ask you…if, maybe…youwantedtogotothisdancewithme?”
Hankyung stared at her. He was trying to process what she had said when she turned and started walking away.
“Wait.” He said taking her hand.
He saw Heechul’s small frown. It melted something inside him and he forgot he was still holding the girl, until she started pulling on his arm.
“I’m sorry.” He said. “I didn’t understand your question.”
“Oh,” she said blushing again. “There’s going to be a dance at school.”
“Dance?” Sungmin asked his eyes lighting up and focusing on Kyuhyun.
“Yes.” She said looking at her feet. “No one knows yet, but I was in charge of decorations and ideas so I know. A few other people know too and once they know…well, I wanted to ask you first oppa.”
“You want Hankyung to go with you?” Heechul asked and if Hankyung weren’t listening closely he would have missed the slight growl.
“Yes.”
Hankyung smiled at the poor girl who looked like she was going to fall down at any moment. He didn’t know why he agreed. It might have been because she was so scared and he had a soft spot for people who were scared. It might have been that she looked so innocent, her big eyes looking anywhere but at him. It might have been that he knew Heechul was going to go and with Siwon. And it might have just been that twinge of jealousy in Heechul’s eyes and his own anger at Siwon that made him say yes.
“I would love to go with you.” He said, but his eyes were on Heechul when he said it.
“Really?” She asked her eyes widening.
Hankyung nodded.
“Oppa, I…I…thank you.” She said dropping into a bow.
Hankyung stopped her. “Why are you thanking me? I should be thanking you for even thinking of asking me.”
He heard Heechul’s scoff and smiled to himself.
“I…I…oppa.”
“My name is Hankyung. Say it with me. Hankyung.”
“Hankyung-sshi.” She said blushing bright red.
“See that’s better. I’ll see you around Jandi.” He said.
“You…you know my name?”
Hankyung smiled. “Of course. Why wouldn’t I?”
Hankyung smiled at her until she was gone. She really was a sweet girl he thought as he turned to the rest of them.
“I would love to go with you.” Donghae said in an almost perfect imitation of Hankyung.
“I should be thanking you for even asking me?” Heechul said with a raised eyebrow.
“Why wouldn’t I know your name?” Kyuhyun smirked.
“My name is Hankyung. Say it with me. Hankyung.” Sungmin laughed.
“Of course, why wouldn’t I?” Wookie said giving him a thumbs up.
“What?” he asked.
“What was that?” Heechul asked. “Were you trying to come off as a sexual pervert?”
“Sexual? Sexual pervert? What?” He asked suddenly very confused.
“She’s going to go back to her friends and tell them how Hankyung-sshi almost ripped her clothes off. She wants you so desperately and you practically gave yourself away.” Heechul snapped.
“I did what? Min, tell him I didn’t.”
“Well, Hankyung. I think I’m going to have to agree with Heechul on this one. You were very friendly to her and that will always give girls the wrong idea.”
“Yesung?”
“I think he was just being polite.” Yesung shrugged.
“Of course you would think that.” Heechul said. “You and Hankyung are attached at the hip. He can’t do anything without thinking about how you would react to it.”
“Heechul?” Eunhyuk said. “Hankyung is naturally like that. He wasn’t being any different than how he would be normally.”
Hankyung nodded.
“Oh, please, you Golden Boys always stick up for each other. Sungmin’s the exception since he’s new.” Heechul said. “You would all cover for Hankyung even if he were making out with her.”
“Can I say something?” Siwon asked.
“NO!” Eight different voices yelled at him.
***
Hankyung frowned at his reflection in the mirror. He was not going to leave that room. He was not going to go out. He didn’t care that he had promised Jandi. He didn’t care that he had spent hours trying to get everything just right. He didn’t care that he was more than presentable. He would not go out. He would not face Heechul like this. He couldn’t.
“Hankyung-sshi?” Yesung called from the outside. “You need to come out now.”
“Yesung, I can’t.”
“Hankyung-hyung, we do this every time you get new clothes. Please come out.” Eunhyuk called.
Hankyung took a deep breath. He really needed to get over his phobia. He did look good. He looked fine. He looked great. He kept telling himself that as he opened the door.
“Wow.” Yesung said softly.
“You look great.” Eunhyuk nodded.
He looked away. “Don’t do that.”
“Do what?” He heard Heechul call as he walked into the room. “Oh.”
Hankyung’s eyes met Heechul’s and he knew that his own mirrored the want in Heechul’s. They hadn’t been together in so long. It was slowly driving Hankyung insane.
“Out.” Heechul said.
“What?” Eunhyuk asked frowning. “Why?”
“Out.” Hankyung repeated his eyes never leaving Heechul.
They waited until Yesung and Eunhyuk were gone before closing the distance between them. Heechul’s hands pulled on Hankyung’s tie so that their noses were right on top of one another.
“You can’t go like this.”
“I know.” Hankyung answered.
“Why don’t you ever dress up for me?”
“Because,” Hankyung said closing his eyes as he pressed his cheek against Heechul’s. “You’ve never invited me to a dance.”
“Do you need an invitation?”
“It would be nice and we can’t either way since you don’t sleep here anymore.”
“I have to go show off Siwon in the afternoons and it drives my father insane to know that we sleep in the same room, as if we didn’t do that here.”
“What exactly do you do?” Hankyung asked.
“Much less than what we do here.”
“So, nothing?”
“Nothing.” Heechul sighed.
“Take me to the dance Heechul.” Hankyung said.
“I don’t want to. She gets to touch you and I have to sit and watch with Siwon.”
Hankyung laughed. He kissed Heechul’s cheek and pulled him out of the room. They hadn’t closed the door so it was no surprise to Hankyung that the dorm was empty. He walked out shoving Heechul out the door first and then he followed.
They walked together in silence, not touching each other and not looking at each other, but each knowing full well where the other was.
“Hankyung, oppa!”
Hankyung looked up. Jandi ran to him, but stopped short when she saw that he was with Heechul.
“Oh, Heechul, oppa, hello.”
“Hello, Jandi. Take good care of our Hankyung. Don’t bring home too late.”
“I won’t.” Jandi answered blushing furiously.
“Don’t mind him.” Hankyung said pulling her along.
He handed over his tickets to the person at the door and turned to share one last look with Heechul who was still waiting for Siwon. The look they exchanged said “you’re mine”, it promised something, gave something.
“Hankyung Oppa, do you want to dance?” Jandi asked sometime later.
They had gotten past all the awkward introductions. Now, they were down to actually talking about each other. He knew that Jandi loved to dance, had wanted to dance since she was five and was excellent at it. It should have been intimidating to dance in a stage when everyone around you knew how to dance too, but Jandi made it fun.
Hankyung followed her to the stage and just danced. He didn’t notice the number of people who stopped to watch them. He didn’t notice the way everyone admired him, the way their eyes were only for him. He didn’t notice the hungry expressions. He only noticed Heechul and that dark look in his eyes, that possessive glare that said clearly “you’re mine.”
Hankyung danced for him and only for him. His hands were on Jandi as he helped her move, but his eyes never left Heechul’s. His gaze stayed forever on Heechul. He was sending a message and he knew Heechul received it.
“Someone turn off the music or we’re all going to suffocate in here.” Someone called. “He’s so hot.”
Hankyung laughed and took Jandi’s hand. They walked down together and went over to sit with Heechul and Siwon.
“That was amazing, Hankyung-hyung.” Siwon said as soon as they sat down.
“You were okay.” Heechul said careful not to look at Hankyung. “You need to fix those what do you call them? The hip thing. You need more practice.”
Hankyung smirked. “I’ll be sure to get more practice. Who knows maybe you could teach me since you know them so well.”
“Yeah, Heechul oppa. You would do an amazing job.” Jandi said winking.
Hankyung smiled fondly at her. She reminded him of a little sister. He wanted to pat her head every time she said something, she was so adorable. And she was way too innocent to be hanging out with them. He assumed that was why he hadn’t ever talked to her before, because as far as personality went she had a lot of it.
She was smart, funny, cute when she had to be, but she had a wit that stung. He really was so attached to her already and they had just spent only three hours together. He offered to get her a drink and Heechul came with him.
“You like her.”
“I do.” Hankyung said picking up two waters.
“A lot?”
“As much as the next person. She’s really nice and funny. I don’t know why we don’t talk to the others in the class more. She’s really sweet. I just want to mess up her hair every time she gives me that look.” Hankyung laughed.
“So you do like her?”
“Yeah?” Hankyung said frowning.
He looked at Heechul who was busy looking at his cup.
“Heechul?”
“What?”
“You’re not jealous, are you?”
“NO.”
Hankyung smiled. He cast a quick glance around the room, but everyone seemed to be busy with something. Siwon and Jandi were busy talking to each other and the only one looking their way was Donghae. He winked at Hankyung and looked away.
Hankyung moved forward. He placed a soft, lingering kiss on Heechul’s lips.
“That’s so you know who loves you.” He said walking away.
He made it to the table and handed Jandi her drink. She turned to him and the two immediately picked up their conversation from where they had left off. Hankyung was into the conversation, but he didn’t miss how Heechul became quieter and quieter during the evening. Every time Hankyung looked up his eyes would meet Heechul’s.
Their message was clear, so clear anyone could have read it, if they paid enough attention. The look they exchanged all evening had been the same, a repetition of a song, a poem unlabeled. The look they gave each other said one thing, one thing that they would never be able to hide from each other.
I love you.
A/N: *shields Jandi* She's innocent here. I just happened to think that Heechul needed to be reminded that Hannie is a sought after guy and that if he's not careful Heechul could lose him to other people. Now, I want everyone to know that Jandi is in now way going to be involved in tearing Hanchul apart. You will not see her ever again. *lets Jandi go* And now...*hugs Siwon* I don't know about you guys, but the poor thing got shot down by all 8 of them together. I think he needs some love. Okay so this was sort of fluffy too I guess. But, you guys can tell me what you think =)
