[Chapter 1] [Chapter 2] [Chapter 3] [Chapter 4]

A/N: Hello there bbs <3 So here is the next chapter and I am going to go off now and do stuff for my mother and father and annoy my brother who I haven't annoyed in a while. So here is this chapter and I hope you like it and I will come back with more soon =) And lookie KYUHAN ;)

Hankyung knew Heechul would always come back because he trusted Heechul. He trusted Kyuhyun too. The bartender because Kyuhyun was always there and because Kyuhyun had never made him a promise, never offered him anything but an ear to listen. Kyuhyun was different from Heechul because Kyuhyun looked up to him even the way he was, Kyuhyun said he admired him.

Hankyung liked Kyuhyun because Kyuhyun was snarky and mean and because Kyuhyun liked to talk to him about a young man who loved pink and was a cashier at a book store. Kyuhyun also liked to lean against Hankyung whenever he had a break and demand stories, much like a pampered child.

Hankyung didn’t mind. He didn’t have many stories to tell, but he tried his best.
                                                                  ***
Kyuhyun watched the way Hankyung sat back down on his chair. There was something ethereally sad and beautiful about Hankyung. The older male was tall, with slim legs that went on for miles. He was beautiful in an exotic way and it was that sad look he always carried in his eyes, those sad brown eyes that made Kyuhyun like him.

It was because even though Hankyung was sad he always had a smile for Kyuhyun, always had time to listen to Kyuhyun complain about how Sungmin was having issues with his sexuality. Hankyung always listened to others, ignoring his pain and Kyuhyun respected him for that.

“Where do you think he’s going?” Hankyung asked frowning after Heechul.

Kyuhyun shrugged knowing that he couldn’t say a word. It was up to Heechul what Hankyung knew or didn’t.

“I don’t know. Maybe he had to call his boyfriend. I assume he has a boyfriend.”

“He does.” Hankyung said looking in the direction Heechul had gone. “Do you think Zhou Mi’s upset that he comes here so often?”

“Zhou Mi?” Kyuhyun asked all but choking on his spit. “Zhou Mi is Heechul’s boyfriend? Zhou Mi? With Heechul?”

Hankyung turned to look at him placing his drink down on the counter. He tilted his head to the left and looked at Kyuhyun, amusement painted on his face.

“You know Zhou Mi?”

“Yes. We used to date.” Kyuhyun frowned wondering where Zhou Mi’s taste had gone. “I can’t believe he dumped me for Heechul.”

“I like Heechul.” Hankyung said pleasantly. “He cares too much about his friends, spends too much money on me. I’m lucky he decided to come that night. I don’t know what I would do without him. It’s nice, having someone to talk to, taking some time off.”

“Isn’t it awkward?” Kyuhyun asked. “You slept with him and now you two are best friends.”

“It was one time and it wasn’t like we knew each other then. I was doing my job and he was getting what he paid for. But, tell me how’s Sungmin?”

Kyuhyun frowned and flopped down on his side of the bar. Sungmin. Sungmin, Sungmin, Sungmin.

“I don’t know. He’s dating a pretty girl he found at the book store he works at.” Kyuhyun said playing out the tragic sigh. “He likes girls hyung. I’m done for.”

“You don’t sound very worried.”

“Well, you and I both know that Sungmin is in denial. He’ll come to his senses and in the mean time I just have to make sure that he sees as much of me as he can.”

Hankyung laughed. “You and Sungmin-ah then?”

“You should meet him.” Kyuhyun said.

He didn’t miss the sadness in Hankyung’s eyes. He didn’t miss the sort of longing look that didn’t even twist Hankyung’s indulgent smile.

“I would love to meet him.”

Kyuhyun felt the silence and unspoken words around them. He could hear the sadness behind the words Hankyung spoke and it was all so heartbreakingly sad. He wanted to reach over and hug the other man, find a way to protect him.

“Hey pretty baby.” A man said slipping two arms around Hankyung. “Want to have some fun? I’ll pay you good money.”

Kyuhyun threw the man a glare. “He’s taken.”

“Oh? By who? You?” the other man said looking Kyuhyun up and down.

He knew he wasn’t ridiculously muscled, but this was Hankyung and he couldn’t just let Hankyung be treated that way. And besides Heechul was coming back and so Hankyung was taken.

“It’s okay Kyuhyun.” Hankyung said getting up and turning to the other man. “I’m sorry. Someone already paid for my time.”

“When are you free?” the man asked shamelessly looking Hankyung up and down.

“He’s not.” Heechul said coming over to take Hankyung’s hand. “He’s mine. Go find someone else.”

Kyuhyun watched the tension between the two men but then the other man walked away muttering about just another whore.

“Don’t listen to him.” Kyuhyun said not missing the look in Hankyung’s eyes. “He doesn’t know what he’s talking about.”

Hankyung offered him a smile and Kyuhyun was glad he had said what he said. He looked at Heechul who looked about ready to explode but with a different sort of emotion on his face. If Kyuhyun had to guess he would say that Heechul was happy, extremely so. He waited. He had a vague idea of what Daejung wanted with Heechul and if what he was thinking was true then Hankyung was so close.

“Kyuhyun, when is your shift over?”

“In five minutes.” Kyuhyun answered.

“What is it Heechul-ah?” Hankyung asked looking between Kyuhyun and Heechul.

“Nothing.” Heechul said. “We’re going to go to your room now. We’re taking Kyuhyun with us.”

Hankyung and Kyuhyun exchanged a look. Heechul never took Hankyung to his room when he was there, only when they were going to drink, but Heechul hadn’t bought anything with him this time. And Kyuhyun was never invited, ever. But, of course Hankyung would always trust Heechul in the end even if they were constantly bickering.

“Come on Kyuhyun.” Heechul said taking Hankyung’s hand and leading the way.

Kyuhyun hung up the few glasses he had left and tossed the towel in his hands to Kangin who was taking over. He didn’t wait for Kangin to complain about how he had left some bottles where they didn’t belong. He just followed Heechul and Hankyung.

They walked quickly to Hankyung’s room and Heechul locked the door as soon as they were all in.

“Heechul-ah. What’s wrong?” Hankyung asked.

Heechul turned around and the smile on his face made Kyuhyun’s heart leap with joy.

“We’re getting you out here.” Heechul said.

“You’re what?” Hankyung asked wide eyed.

“I said we’re getting you out of here.”

Hankyung sat down hard on the bed. His eyes were wide and scared and Kyuhyun saw that he was trembling. Hankyung looked up his brown eyes filled with unshed tears. It broke Kyuhyun’s heart to see those tears. Hankyung should never have to cry. He shouldn’t cry because whenever Kyuhyun had problems, whenever Kyuhyun had wanted to cry too, Hankyung had always told him that.

You should never cry.

“Heechul…how?”

Heechul looked over at Kyuhyun. “I had Kyuhyun talk to Daejung. The reason I couldn’t get you out here sooner was because there was someone paying to keep you here. I told you that. Well, I had Kyuhyun talk to Daejung about that. I made Kyuhyun put the idea into Daejung’s head that you could be trouble, if whoever was paying the money ever came back. There could be problems if you talked and he didn’t want trouble. He thought it would be better if he let you go.”

Hankyung turned his eyes to Kyuhyun. “You shouldn’t have. What if you lost your job? You know how he is about anyone contradicting him.”

“I wanted to.” Kyuhyun said shrugging.

“But, how much money did you spend?”

“Oh shut up.” Heechul said going over to hug Hankyung. “And don’t you dare think of paying me back.”

Hankyung reached over and took Kyuhyun’s hand. “Thank you.”

“Yeah, yeah.” Heechul said pulling away and turning away. “Now get up and let’s go. We need to pack your things.”

“But, where am I going to go?”

Heechul blinked then looked at Kyuhyun. “Is he crazy?”

Kyuhyun shrugged. “You never know what goes on inside his head.”

“You’re coming with me.” Heechul said rolling his eyes. “Now what are we taking?”

Hankyung shook his head and stood up. “Noting I have belongs to me. Everything belongs to Daejung. The only thing I have is some money that I saved.”

“Well grab it hyung and let’s go.” Kyuhyun said understanding why Heechul was so nervous.

Hankyung moved and pulled off the mattress.

“Holy shit Hankyung! What the hell?” Heechul said and Kyuhyun had to agree.

“You call this a little?” Kyuhyun asked taking in the rolled up wads of money under the mattress. “How much do you have under there hyung?”

Hankyung shrugged. “I save what I can, but I never get out so there is nowhere to spend it. I guess it built up over the years.”

“Do you have anywhere to put it?” Heechul asked.

“Wait! I do.” Kyuhyun said slipping his bag off his shoulder. He and Heechul proceeded to put all the money away and when Hankyung tried to help Heechul swatted his hand away.

“Go get anything else you need.” Heechul hissed as they finished putting everything away.

“I have nothing else.”

Heechul nodded and handed Kyuhyun the bag. Heechul gave Kyuhyun a look and they each went to stand on either side of Hankyung. They walked out like that, each a protective barrier around Hankyung.

"Now, don't look back and walk out of here with your head up. You don't belong here anymore and don't let any of them have the satisfaction of knowing that you looked back. It's over Hankyung."

Hankyung nodded and gripped Kyuhyun’s harder as they walked to the door. Kyuhyun could hear the way Hankyung’s breath picked up as they got closer. He could see the disbelief and fear in Hankyung’s eyes. He could feel the tension rolling off of the older man in waves that were starting to get to him too.

Kyuhyun squeezed Hankyung’s hand. He got a shaky smile in return. He watched the way Heechul rubbed small circles on Hankyung’s other hand when they got to the door. The bouncer took one look at Hankyung and shook his head. Kyuhyun's could almost hear the way Hankyung’s heart jumped in his chest. He felt the Hankyung’s pulse in his hand as Heechul stepped forward.

"What?" Heechul asked forever the self-assured man that he was. "What do you want? I'm in a hurry."

"You can't take the dancers out of here. You pay for services here."

"He's not one of the dancers here anymore. He's mine. Go ask Daejung and do it quick. I have a boyfriend waiting for me with hot food and a nice warm bed. I really don’t want to be here."

Kyuhyun raised an eyebrow at Heechul's lack if tack. He was surprised when the bouncer turned to go do what Heechul said but he knew he shouldn't be. If Heechul could afford to come to a place like this then that meant he had money to spare and had to be someone important. The way things worked here was the more important you were the better service you got. Heechul had Hankyung whenever he wanted so he must be someone very important. Kyuhyun's would know if he didn't spend so much time in front of his computer but why waste time on the news when he could be beating levels and gaming online?

"Wait," Heechul called pulling out a paper. "Here. Daejung gave this to me. Read it and let us go. I don't have time for this."

Kyuhyun wrapped an arm around Hankyung’s waist and squeezed just to remind Hankyung that he wasn't alone. Hankyung leaned against him and Kyuhyun saw the way he tried to ease his breathing.

There were a tense five minutes in which even Kyuhyun held his breath. He waited as the bouncer read the paper Heechul had given him. Kyuhyun was starting to wonder whether the man could read when he folded the paper and handed it to Heechul.

"I don't know what this one wants with you." the bouncer said to Hankyung. "But, you're lucky to get out of here. Take care."

Hankyung managed a dazzling smile as Kyuhyun half carried him out the door. They were almost to Heechul's car when Hankyung broke. He sobbed into their arms and it took them five minutes to calm him down. Kyuhyun and Heechul managed to get him into the car and Kyuhyun sat next to him in the back seat. Hankyung leaned on him and fell asleep almost immediately.

They were halfway to Heechul's house or so Kyuhyun assumed when Hankyung started murmuring soft words in his sleep. Kyuhyun made out the words "I'm free."

He exchanged a look with Heechul and Kyuhyun knew that he could end up liking Heechul even if Zhou mi had left him for this man. He could like Heechul because Heechul got Hankyung out and because when Hankyung dreamt Heechul looked at him and smiled.

"You are free." Heechul whispered. "You are free Hankyung."

Kyuhyun looked at the man sleeping on his shoulder. He watched the way those eyelids fluttered and the way his chest rose and fell as he breathed. He watched the way Hankyung leaned on him, dependent, trusting. Kyuhyun smiled. Yes, Hankyung was free. He was free.
