[Chapter 1] [Chapter 2] [Chapter 3]

A/N: So here I am with the next chapter to this because I can't wait for you all to read this. And so then I will slow down with the posting because of home and all the things I have to do. =/ But, then we will get back to this later on. So, here I go. I hope you all like this chapter even though there is no sihan here, but there will be soon, we just need to get Hannie out of where he's at =( the poor baby. So the italics are flashbacks or thoughts.

Hankyung knew that waiting was a bad thing. He should never wait for anything. Waiting for things made room for hoping and hoping was never good, never good because it just led to heartbreak. Hankyung knew enough to know that when he hoped it was never good.

He had hoped so much in the beginning, hoped that maybe the other man loved him enough to disobey his parents. He had hoped that the other man would come back, come back at least to tell him that it was over. But, of course, the other man never came. No one who had ever promised to love him ever came back.

No one but Heechul.

But, Heechul was another story.
                                                                     ***
Heechul was tired of Siwon’s party. He told Zhou Mi so and Zhou Mi had dropped him off at the club before going home to make or buy food for when Heechul finally went home.

The club Heechul went to was not innocent. It was a strip club complete with strippers and private rooms for when someone was willing to pay a little extra money. Heechul had ended up there one night after he had broken up with what’s-his-face. And there he’d met Hankyung.

It had been about release for him, for a way to forget and he had found the Chinese man attractive and when he had seen the other man dancing he hadn’t hesitated. He had gone over using his usual eloquent talk and he’d gotten the finger in response. How could he have walked away after that?

He’d spent the best night in a long time then and after that he’d been ready to leave. He had to leave of course, it wasn’t like he would ever talk to someone who slept with others for money, even he knew better than that. But, he couldn’t just walk away.

He’d seen something in those brown eyes, something that said that the other man was lost and needed someone to help him. And Heechul still wasn’t sure if it was the accented Korean, the big brown eyes or the way the other man could play the crowd. Because Heechul had seen the looks that Hankyung could put on his face, the looks that screamed sex and he still wasn’t sure why he bothered to listen to Hankyung, but he was glad he had.

They’d spent the rest of the time Heechul had paid for talking. At first it had started simple, just what’s your name, what do you do for a living. And then Heechul had asked why and the story Hankyung told him broke him.

“I was young. My parents were dead. What could I do? He found me. He took me here and said that if I was a good boy he would let me go. I had to learn from a very young age that there are certain things you can do, some that you can’t, I learned from him. He made me watch the others and when I was old enough he asked me to do the same. My first time was with a man who didn’t even know what he was doing. I had to pretend and I became a good actor. I learned to make the right sounds, do the right things. It wasn’t hard and since I never knew anything besides this I never cared to leave.”

Heechul watches the Chinese man as he stretches and he wishes he could do something to help.

“You can leave.” He says.

Hankyung laughs. “I can’t leave. Where would I go? Who would I be? I know nothing but dancing and acting and sleeping with men. I don’t even have enough money to pay my way out and it’s not like I’m mistreated.”

Heechul doesn’t understand so he does what he does best when he is confused. He gets snarky and mean.

“That’s stupid.”

Hankyung shrugs. “I think it’s stupid that you’re wasting your money and time talking to a stripper who sleeps with men for a living.”

Heechul shuts up because he can’t deny it. He has paid Hankyung twice already because he can’t leave. He can’t abandon this man because this man doesn’t deserve to be here and he likes this man. He likes how Hankyung doesn’t let him have his way, how Hankyung answers right back when Heechul says anything to him.

So that night when Heechul leaves he promises to come back. He knows that Hankyung doesn’t believe him so he comes back because he likes doing what others don’t expect. He likes surprising people so not only does he come back the next night and pay for five hours right off, he also refuses to sleep with Hankyung.

“You really are stupid.” Is the first thing Hankyung says and Heechul shrugs because he is.

Heechul sighed as he walked over to the bar. He didn’t want to drink. He just wanted to sit there and wait for Hankyung to come to him. He had already paid for the usual five hours. He came at this hour all the time because when he did his five hours ran until the end of Hankyung’s shift. That meant that Hankyung ended early because Heechul was just here to talk to the other man and drink with him.

Heechul watched Hankyung on stage, dancing in that way that captivated everyone. He saw the way Hankyung moved, the way the other man played with the crowd. He liked watching Hankyung because Hankyung was talented and Heechul knew that if Hankyung was given the chance he could become a flawless dancer.

It was a pity that he was stuck here and that Heechul could do nothing for his best friend, because Hankyung was his best friend, had become the one person Heechul could talk to freely, about anything. And it was not fair that Heechul could do nothing for him.

He had tried, had tried so many times to get Hankyung out of there, but he couldn’t. When he asked their manger for a price the man had just laughed in his face and told him that Hankyung wasn’t for sale. Of course Heechul hadn’t left it at that, he had done some investigating and he knew that there was someone paying to keep Hankyung here, trapped. Someone was paying a significant amount of money to make sure that Hankyung couldn’t get out.

It was probably someone who had an image to protect, someone who had gotten too close to Hankyung and wanted to make sure that Hankyung would never bother them. And it had to be someone powerful, someone who had enough money to throw around. Heechul vowed to figure out who it was, had vowed that he would get Hankyung out.

“Heechul-ah.” The warm accented voice whispered by his ear.

“Yah!” Heechul said slapping Hankyung’s arm. “What are you doing? Who said you could sneak up on me?”

Hankyung laughed and slipped gracefully into the chair next to Heechul. “Do you want anything to drink from here before we go? I’ll buy. I have money to spare.”

Heechul flinched. “Do you now?”

Hankyung kept his face carefully blank. “I had a good day.”

“Hankyung you need to get out of here.” Heechul said. “I need to get you out of here. You have to tell me the name of that man, the one whose parents came to get.”

Hankyung sighed. “I told you I never asked his name. And I don’t get out of here much so I can’t tell you who he is. And you have to stop spending so much money on me. Zhou Mi is going to be upset.”

Heechul shrugged. “He knows why I’m here and he likes you. And besides no one tells me what to do, not even you so don’t start.”

Hankyung laughed and Heechul noticed the dark circles under those brown eyes.

“When was the last time you slept?” Heechul asked knowing that Hankyung never slept properly.

There were always people asking for Hankyung, always someone sneaking in at ridiculous times and Hankyung could not say no, was not in the position to say no.

“You need sleep. You look like crap.”

Hankyung allowed himself to yawn. It was Heechul and he could do whatever he wanted when Heechul was there because Heechul was his friend. Heechul cared and Heechul always came back.

“I don’t look like crap.” Hankyung said. “I look very good since you keep coming back all the time.”

“Shut up. You know the only reason I’m here is because you would die without me. You need me. Admit it. And I can’t say I blame you since I am pretty hot. I mean I got Zhou Mi so I must be pretty appealing to Chinese men.”

“Zhou Mi isn’t Chinese.” Hankyung said leaning back into his chair and closing his eyes.

“Oh? What is he then? Canadian?”

Hankyung’s eyes snapped open. “How’s Henry?”

“He’s fine. Zhou Mi takes good care of his adoptive brother. You wouldn’t find a better hyung—”

“Gege.” Hankyung said and Heechul saw the way his eyes sparkled with amusement.

“We’re in Korea.” Heechul said. “I don’t need to learn Mandarin.”

“Zhou Mi is Chinese.”

“So? It’s not like he can’t speak Korean and if anyone needs to make some sacrifices it’s him.”

“I speak Mandarin. You could learn for me.”

“You?” Heechul scoffed. “Why would I learn for you?”

Hankyung stifled a yawn as he looked at Heechul. “Because you know you would do anything for me.”

Heechul laughed, doubled over on his chair. He laughed so hard tears came to his eyes and he was still laughing when Hankyung finally joined him. He looked up and couldn’t help the pain that twisted in his heart. Hankyung didn’t deserve to be here. He wanted something else for his friend, something better.

“Why are you laughing?” Heechul asked acting normal because that was what Hankyung needed.

“Your face is unnaturally funny.” Hankyung said settling back down.

“Why does everything that come out of your mouth make me feel like I’m the immature, younger one?”

“You are immature.”

Heechul pushed against Hankyung’s shoulder and laughed when Hankyung fell off his chair. He laughed even harder when he saw the surprise on Hankyung’s face. Hankyung just stood up and Heechul thought he was going to sit, but Hankyung reached over and tugged Heechul off his chair. They both fell on the floor, Hankyung landing on top of Heechul.

“Ow, get off. You’re heavy.” Heechul complained shoving against Hankyung’s chest.

The other man just laughed and leaned above Heechul, his face inches from his. “You don’t really want me to move do you?”

Heechul laughed. He knew this game. He let his hands wrap themselves in Hankyung’s hair and pulled so that Hankyung’s face was millimeters from his. He let his eyes follow Hankyung’s lips and he licked his slowly.

“You look yummy.”

Hankyung laughed and stood pulling Heechul up with him.

“Okay, you win this one.” Hankyung said leaning against the bar.

“I always win.”

Hankyung opened his mouth to say something but Kyuhyun who was at the other end of the bar came over to them. He smiled at Hankyung then motioned Heechul over. Hankyung blinked but nodded and moved away to give the two some room.

Heechul didn’t know much about Kyuhyun other than that he was the bartender and Hankyung liked talking to him. He had talked to Kyuhyun and knew that the boy was snarky and Heechul liked him enough for that. But, he had never really talked talked with him. The fact that the other man was calling him meant a lot. It meant so much.

“What is it?” Heechul asked when they were far enough from Hankyung.

“Daejung is looking for you.” Kyuhyun said. “I think he said something about five years being enough time and needing money anyway.”

Heechul knew what Kyuhyun was talking about. He had been waiting for this too. And if Daejung wanted to let him get Hankyung out of here then he was going to do it and now before the other man changed his mind.

Heechul cast a quick glance in Hankyung’s direction and saw that there was man talking to him. Hankyung shook his head and gestured to Heechul. Heechul frowned as the other man tried to stick his hand down Hankyung’s pants.

“Excuse me.” Heechul said walking over. “Back off. He’s mine.”

He didn’t wait for the other man’s answer. He took Hankyung’s hand and pulled him over to where Kyuhyun was.

“Play with Kyuhyun for a minute.” Heechul said. “And you, Kyuhyun watch him for me will you?”

Kyuhyun nodded and Hankyung turned his brown eyes to Heechul.

“Are you leaving?”

“Nope.” Heechul said not wanting to give anything away yet. “I have to go see someone but I’ll be back before my five hours are up.”

“Okay. I’ll wait with Kyuhyun.”

Heechul’s heart twisted again as he realized that just as Hankyung was the only one who got to see him at his worst, he was also the only one who Hankyung trusted. It made him want to help the other man all the more.

“Don’t go anywhere. I’ll be back.”

“Heechul-ah.” Hankyung laughed. “I have nowhere to go.”

Heechul laughed along with him because it was a joke and if he didn’t laugh it would be too real.

You have nowhere to go yet. But I promise to get you out.

Heechul turned away. He was getting Hankyung out. He had to.
